KING OF PRUSSIA, PA — Crews will begin construction on Route 100 next week to address safety concerns and, hopefully, alleviate congestion, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced.
“Improving vital infrastructure like Route 100 in Chester County will include modern safety enhancements to alleviate congestion and move traffic safely through this critical corridor,” Gov. Wolf said in a statement addressing the work.
Construction will begin on Monday, Feb. 19 and will focus on a 6.3 mile section of the road which includes Upper Uwchlan, West Vincent, East Nantmeal and South Coventry townships in Chester County.

Lane restrictions will be in place through Feb. 23 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The project as a whole is anticipated to last several months.
Work will include road treatment to increase friction and reduce hydroplaning, two shoulder-widening pull-offs, and improved traffic signals, officials said.
