Route 23 To Be Restricted For 8 Months In Phoenixville Area For $2.5 Million Project
A major $2.5 million project will lead to additional traffic along Route 23 for most of the rest of the year, officials said.
PHOENIXVILLE, PA — Lane closures are planned on Route 23 in Phoenixville, East Pikeland, and Schuylkill Township as construction on a new $2.5 million road project gets underway, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced.
Work will begin Wednesday, March 11 and continue through Friday, Nov. 20.
Periodic lane closures with flagging should be expected on Route 23 near the Township Line Road intersection.

Work will widen and restripe stretches of Route 23, add a new left-turn lane to the intersection with Township Line Road, mill and pave miles of roadway, and improve 11 signalized intersections, officials said.
Crews also plan to remove median islands on Route 23 and Route 113.

Drivers should plan for delays and consider alternate routes.
The project is funded fully at the federal level. H&K Group Inc. of Skippack is the general contractor.
