Route 23 Bridge Over French Creek Reopens in Phoenixville
Good news for Phoenixville-area commuters.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA — The Route 23 bridge over French Creek reopened on Thursday in Phoenixville and East Pikeland, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced.
The $450,000 project to rehabilitate the formally structurally deficient two-span bridge is now completely, according to officials.
PennDOT’s contractor rehabilitated the bridge by replacing a portion of the bridge deck and deteriorated beams, officials said.

Construction began on August 5.
The Route 23 (Schuylkill Road) bridge was built in 1940 and carreis an average of 15,450 vehicles a day, PennDOT said.
