Schuylkill River Heritage Area Rebrands Itself

The Schuylkill River Heritage Area has a new name and a new logo that better reflect their mission to improve the river and its communities.

POTTSTOWN, PA — The Schuylkill River Heritage Area, a leading cultural and environmental conservation organization in the watershed, has rebranded itself as Schuylkill River Greenways (SRG). The renaming also comes with a new logo.

The organization says the name and new logo, which features a green and blue graphic "representative of fields and towns with a river" better reflects the organization's river-centric mission.

“We have changed our name and our logo, but we are not changing what we do,” Schuylkill River Greenways Executive Director Elaine P. Schaefer said in a statement “Our new identity better represents the work we do, building and promoting the Schuylkill River Trail, championing the river and revitalizing the communities along it.”

SRG said they are committed to completing the 130-mile Schuylkill River Trail, connecting the remaining missing links between Philadelphia and Pottsville.

The organization, founded in 1974, will maintain the National Heritage Area designation for the region, which is bestowed by U.S. Congress.
