Schuylkill River Trail Bike Repair Station Coming To Phoenixville

Great news for cyclists on the Schuylkill River Trail.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA — The Schuylkill River Trail will soon be outfitted with seven new bicycle fix-it stations, including one in Phoenixville.

The announcement comes as the first of the new stations was installed at the Walnut Street trailhead in Philadelphia. In the coming weeks, stations will also be added in East Falls, Phoenixville, Spring City, Pottstown, Union Township, and Birdsboro.

Each station includes a bike rack, an air pump for tires, and a full set of tools for riders to make minor repairs.

An exact opening date or location for the Phoenixville station has not been announced.

"Cyclists using the trail will now have access to these repair stations. We believe the fix-it stations will help trail users have a positive experience and help connect more people to this incredible regional resource," Elaine Paul Schafer, the executive director of Schuylkill River Greenways, said in a statement.

The construction of the stations is a partnership between the Schuylkill River Greenways, REI, and the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.
