Strangers on a Train
A seemingly off-handed suggestion turns deadly after a callow young tennis star (Farley Granger) meets a seemingly eccentric train commuter (Robert Walker, in his best role). Filled with some of Hitchcock's most creative and stunning cinematic moments. Co-scripted by Raymond Chandler (The Big Sleep), Not rated. 101 min. 35mm screening. Join us at 1:45pm for an introduction to the film by Alice Leppert from Ursinus College.

The Birds
How to follow Psycho? Take three years to realize a story based on the inexplicable horror nature can create. Like many of Hitchcock’s best works, this demands re-watching, if only to appreciate the power of its haunting images: birds slowly gathering on monkey bars, the attack on the children’s birthday party, the point-of-view shot as they descend on Bodega Bay, Tippi Hedren stars. PG-13. 119 min. Digital presentation. Join us at 1:45pm for an introduction to the film by Jennifer Fleegler from Ursinus College.

Hitchcock/Truffaut
French New Wave director Francois Truffaut spent weeks in 1962 interviewing Alfred Hitchcock, discussing and dissecting his work. The 1966 transcripts inspired this 2015 Kent Jones documentary. Narrated by Bob Balaban, with insight from David Fincher, Wes Anderson, Richard Linklater, and Martin Scorsese. PG-13. 79 min. Digital screening.

Frenzy
After 25 years of working exclusively in the United States, Hitchcock returned to England in 1972 with great result. Trademark themes (an innocent man accused of murder, macabre humor) and incredibly creative visual and technical tricks make this of Alfred’s finest latter-day productions. Rated R. 116 min. Digital projection.
