Production of "The Heiress" will open Friday, April 20

 

Forge Theatre’s production of "The Heiress," written by Ruth and Augustus Goetz, adapted from the Henry James novel, "Washington Square," will open Friday, April 20. 

Based on a Henry James 1880 novel, the story of "The Heiress"  centers around the socially awkward and painfully shy spinster Catherine, who stands to inherit a tidy sum and suddenly finds herself the object of the attentions of the handsome but penniless Morris Townsend.

A classic tale of love and betrayal, "The Heiress" appeared for the first time at Forge in the 5th season.  Performance dates are April 20, 21, 27, 28, May 3, 4, 5 at 8 p.m., and April 29 at 2:00 p.m.

Advance reservations are strongly recommended.  Admission if $12.00 and $10.00 for youth under 18.  Reservations can be made through the Forge Theatre website, www.forgetheatre.org, or by calling 610-935-1920.

"The Heiress" is Directed by Robert Marsch, who joined Forge in 1994 as the stage manager for "House Of Blue Leaves."

The cast consists of Catherine Sloper – Maria Jarrell, Morris Townsend – Eric Jarrell, Dr. Sloper – Paul Leis, Aunt Penniman – Andrea Cronin, Mrs Montgomery – Beverly Fox,  Marian Almond – Shanna Lodge, Mrs Almond – Bev Smith.

The production team includes  Dee Henkin - Producer, Cathy Stratoti – Stage Manager, Chris Haig – Set Design,  Clem Mirto – Lighting Design,  Chris Exley – Master Carpenter - Regina DePaolis – Costumes, Dean Soltes - Lighting Technician, Marnie Herzfeld – Sound Technician, Jackie Laskin – Props.
