
POTTSTOWN, PA — A beer brewed by Sly Fox has been recognized as the best in the country at a national beer competition in Denver, Colorado.
Pottstown-based Sly Fox, which also has a Phoenixville location, won a gold medal for its "Grisette Summer Ale" in the Belgian and French Style Ale category at the festival.
The Brewers Association's Great American Beer Festival this weekend included the best beers from 800 breweries. More than 60,000 people attended the event, and nearly 3,900 beers were included.

It was just one among several category winners from southeastern Pennsylvania.
Iron Hill's Solzhenitsyn won a silver medal for "Solzhenitsyn" in the Aged Beer category.

Stickman Brews, based in Royersford, won a bronze medal in the category "Other Belgian-Style Ale" for its beer, "Cousin Stoopid."
Yards, based in Philadelphia, also won a silver in the Extra Special Bitter category for its "Extra Special Ale." Dock Street Brewery, also based in Philadelphia, won a bronze for "Man Full of Trouble,' in the Brown Porter category.
