Okay then...

Looks like the latest heatwave has broken & the smokey skies from the Canadian wildfires have cleared out for the time being so we can get back into our 'normal' summertime groove...

That'll kick off on Tuesday night July 21st at 7;00 PM (if Mother Nature cooperates) over at the Eagleview Summer Concert Series near the Exton/Lionville area with a FREE show from Polyrhythmics!

Their sound originated in Seattle’s underground deep funk scene combining impossibly tight grooves with bold brass and hypnotic percussion that showcased elements of R&B, progressive jazz, and Afrobeat which defined the instrumental group’s early era sound.

As a recording project and touring ensemble, the band’s sound continues to evolve following six full length albums, several EPs and live releases. The virtuosic musicianship and musical conversation built on a relentless touring schedule of the previous decade has led them to a brand of psych-funk that fills a room with an impending mood where anything could happen - sometimes evoking their brighter and cinematic Fela-influences, but also a more sinister and darker turn toward a more progressive sonic palette. Vocalist extraordinaire Adryon de León will be featured with the band for this gig.

Philadelphia-born singer-songwriter Julia Miralles has been tapped to open the evenings festivities. She is known for crafting indie and dream-pop songs that live somewhere between a late-night drive and a half-remembered dream. She writes everything herself, plays electric guitar, and performs with her own band. Her sound is atmospheric, introspective, and entirely her own.

Thursday, July 23rd will be a Night of NOLA over there in King of Prussia with the Preservation Hall Jazz Band appearing with George Porter Jr. + Runnin' Pardners as well as John "Papa" Gros at 6:00 PM.

Flamekeepers of the New Orleans jazz legacy, Preservation Hall Jazz Band have been holding court at their famed French Quarter venue since the 1960s. Founded by tuba player Allan Jaffe and his wife Sandra, Preservation Hall has featured a long cadre of legendary New Orleans musicians over the years and issued a number of albums, all of which showcase the group's rootsy, soulful brand of traditional New Orleans jazz. With the passing of Allen Jaffe in 1987, leadership of the band was handed down to his son, tuba player Ben Jaffe, who further pushed the group to evolve. While standards and traditional New Orleans jazz repertoire remain their core focus, they've transformed into a vibrantly cross-pollinated ambassador for New Orleans, exploring original compositions, Afro-Cuban rhythms, and collaborating with artists beyond the jazz spectrum.

New Orleans R&B bassist George Porter, Jr. was a founding member of the Meters, New Orleans' premier funk band of the '60s and '70s. Porter remained in demand as a session musician for many years, and Runnin' Partner, his own 1990 album on Rounder, displayed his multi-faceted approach.

New Orleans native John "Papa" Gros (pronounced grow) has spent more than a quarter-century championing the music of the Crescent City. He is a bedrock New Orleans artist, a keyboardist, singer/songwriter who draws on funk, rhythm & blues and Americana songcraft; he also knows his way around the Mardi Gras music repertoire about as well as anyone.

Next, we go over to Bryn Mawr's Twilight Concert Series on Friday, July 24th at 7:00 PM for a special night with singer-songwriter John Gorka performing at the gazebo.

Famed for his rich, expressive baritone, New Jersey native John Gorka was one of the leading lights of the new folk movement that emerged in the mid-'80s. Gorka began his career while attending Moravian College here in Pennsylvania in the early '80s, appearing at open-mike nights at a local coffeehouse like Godfrey Daniels in Bethlehem before eventually forming his own group, the Razzy Dazzy Spasm Band. Soon he hit the road, performing up and down the Eastern Seaboard before finally settling in Texas and winning the Kerrville Folk Festival's prestigious New Folk Award in 1984.

Other artists who had inspired him in those early days – Suzanne Vega, Bill Morrissey, Nanci Griffith, Christine Lavin, Shawn Colvin – had become his peers. Over the years, many of those same artists have recorded and/or performed John Gorka songs, along with the likes of Mary Chapin Carpenter, Mary Black and Maura O’Connell. John has graced the stage of Austin City Limits, Mountain Stage, etown and has appeared on CNN. The Boston Globe may have summed it up best when they wrote "Gorka is widely heralded for the sophisticated intelligence and provocative originality of his songs". Opening for John will be the equally talented Nini Camps.

After years as the lead singer of Antigone Rising, Camps has been carving out a more personal lane in Americana, folk rock, and roots music. A longtime songwriter, this new chapter leans into acoustic-forward songs about resilience, identity, complicated relationships, and the hard-earned clarity that comes with experience. Her sound lives somewhere between Lucinda Williams, Lori McKenna and Kathleen Edwards with emotionally honest songs grounded in warmth, grit, and a personal lived-in perspective.

...And we wrap it all up back in King of Prussia with a VERY cool TWO NIGHT event at Heuser Park with The Disco Biscuits! Look for them, along with DJ Mars Menthols of Goose, on Saturday, July 25th & Sunday, July 26th. Both show kick off at 4:30 PM.

They are a band of transformation and invention. The Philadelphia-based group remains the pioneers of “Trance-Fusion” - bridging the gap between electronic dance music and jam rock - while consistently looking for new sonic boundaries to break and avenues to tell stories within.

With two rock operas (1998’s Hot Air Balloon / 2000’s Chemical Warfare Brigade) among the 8 full-length studio albums under their belt, The Biscuits recently released their 9th studio record, a space opera entitled “Revolution in Motion,” in 2024.

With a vast touring schedule and ever-changing live shows, The Disco Biscuits’ soul belongs as much to marathon dance parties as it does to live improvisational journeys. They employ emerging technologies to help them create music that is 100% human although, perhaps, not entirely of this planet.

Eggy will handle the opening duties for the Saturday show - They are redefining the modern jam band experience with a blend of rich songwriting, exploratory improvisation, and magnetic live energy. The Connecticut-based quartet—Jake Brownstein (guitar, vocals), Dani Battat (keys, vocals), Mike Goodman (bass, vocals), and Alex Bailey (drums, vocals)—has built a reputation for emotionally resonant songs and live performances that turn every set into an unpredictable, communal experience.

lespecial, who like Eggy hails from the Nutmeg State opens the show on Sunday... This multi-instrumentalist "power trio" continue to push the boundaries of what a three-piece band is capable of both live and in the studio. The band’s signature blend of “heavy future groove” combines headbanging metal riffage and surgical rhythmic precision with bone shaking 808s, sub synths and ethereal vocal stylings for a dance floor that welcomes moshing, dancing and hip swaying alike. Listeners are taken on a journey to the musical netherworld through esoteric soundscapes punctuated by raw, primal power.
