Special screening of the film A Place at the Table @ The Colonial
Sponsored by PACS, A Place at the Table explores the ramifications of food insecurity in our nation and its communities.

How does hunger impact a community? The film A Place at the Table examines how people can go hungry in a nation with large quantities of food. Phoenixville Area Community Services (PACS) is sponsoring the showing of the film at The Colonial Theatre in conjunction with World Hunger Day, October 16. Tickets for the film are $10 and are available on The Colonial Theatre Box Office or online at the Colonial Theatre. Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit PACS.
Nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival, A Place at the Table includes appearances by Jeff Bridges and chef Tom Colicchio as it investigates the economic, social, and cultural implications of food insecurity. What’s more, the film demonstrates how hunger could finally be solved if citizens decided that making healthy food available and affordable for all people was in our communities’ best interests.
“A Place at the Table is a powerful film that demonstrates how food insecurity can impact many facets of a person’s life,” says Carol Berger, Executive Director of PACS. “It shows us how everyday people can find themselves without access to food and what it means to them, their families, and their communities. It also reveals that it’s a problem we can fix, if we can raise enough awareness and encourage people to take action.”
