Spring-Ford Employees Collectively Lose 276 Pounds In Weight Loss Challenge
The weight loss challenge doubled as a fundraiser for a student program.

ROYERSFORD, PA – Spring-Ford Area School District employees lost a collective 276.7 pounds over the last six weeks as part of an annual district wide weight loss challenge, which doubled as a fundraiser for Spring-Ford SNAP (Students Need an Alternative Party), the district said in a news release Monday.
Spring-Ford’s 10-12 Center came in first place losing a collective 4.44% body weight.

- · Brooke Elementary School – .46%
Employees reported using a variety of methods to stay motivated during the weight loss challenge, such as group exercising and encouraging colleagues along the way.
“Staff members were not only excited to take part in an activity that benefited their health and well-being, but contributed to such a great cause,” said Laura McNeil Murphy, Evans Elementary School Nurse.
Since the weight loss challenge began six years ago, district employees have raised $4,400 for SNAP and lost 2,059.9 pounds.
