Stretch of Route 29 To Be Reconstructed In Chester County
Route 29 lanes will be restricted as construction begins to alleviate pothole issues in the area.

KING OF PRUSSIA, PA — Some Route 29 lanes will be restricted in East Whiteland as portions of the road are reconstructed, PennDOT officials announced on Wednesday.
The project, which is slated to be completed in the fall of 2018, aims to reduce sinkhole issues in the area.
Reconstruction will take place on Route 29 between Yellow Springs Road and Flat Road. Closures will be in place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., from Monday, Oct. 2 through Friday, Oct. 13, for exploratory drilling. Future closures will be announced at a later date.

“The purpose of this project is to address a history of reoccurring sinkholes located along this stretch of highway, and provide a safe and efficient roadway while decreasing future maintenance costs and traffic impacts,” Governor Tom Wolf said in a statement Wednesday. “Our work here in Chester County is part of our continuing effort to improve transportation infrastructure in Pennsylvania.”
Motorists should allow additional time to travel through the area, as significant slowdowns are expected.
