Hounds meant business on Friday.

Take Your Day to Work Day was celebrated by businesses and organizations throughout Montgomery and Chester Counties on Friday.

Originally created in 1999, the Day was established to encourage future adoptions and to appreciate the importance of dogs in society as both “companions and protectors,” according to the Chester County Food Pantry.

About 300 businesses participated in the first Take Your Dog To Work Day. No exact estimates were available for how many participated on Friday, but the number is well into the thousands, according to the The Independent.
