Traffic Signal To Be Installed At Busy, Accident-Laden Limerick Intersection: Report

LIMERICK, PA -- A new traffic signal has been approved for a dangerous intersection in Limerick.

The signal was unanimously improved by the board of supervisors for Ridge Pike near the intersection with North Limerick Road, according to a report.

PennDOT still needs to approve the recommendation.

Officials hope to complete work near the end of 2016, according to the report.

Multiple accidents and significant traffic were factors in the board's decision, the Pottstown Mercury reports.

The cost of the project is estimated to be about $325,000.

A land survey will be required for the necessary construction and modifications to the road, shoulder, and sidewalk.
