Trappe Man Drowns Swimming off Coast Of Maryland: Reports
A Trappe man drowned while swimming with his 16-year-old son in the rough surf off of Maryland's coast, multiple sources report.

A 45-year-old Trappe man drowned Tuesday off the coast of Maryland while swimming with his 16-year-old son, according to multiple media sources.
Charles Poole was swimming with his son in the ocean near the oceanside campground at Assateague Island National Seashore, the Maryland Coast Dispatch reported.
The surf had been powerful along the coast all week due to offshore storm activity, officials said. Both the father and son soon began having difficulty in the water. The son was able to make it back to the beach.

There are no lifeguards in that area but two lifeguards from the north came down to help, NBC 10 reports. When they recovered the man he was not breathing, and he was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital soon thereafter.
Tropical Depressions are forecasted to continue to impact beaches along the Atlantic seaboard over the next several days and surf conditions are expected to grow more dangerous, according to the Coast Guard.
