U.S. 422 Lane Closures, Traffic Near Valley Forge: August 1-4

Lane closures on 422 near Valley Forge will lead to traffic in the vicinity.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced the latest round of lane restrictions on U.S. 422, set to take effect on August 1-4.

Westbound closures will be in effect from Trooper Road to First Avenue, officials said.

PennDOT advises drivers to allow additional time for travel on westbound U.S. 422 near the construction area because backups will occur.

This work is part of the ongoing $97.4 million project to build new, wider bridges to improve travel and carry U.S. 422 motorists over the Schuylkill River, Norfolk Southern Railroad, South Trooper Road and Schuylkill River Trail along 422.

Construction began in February 2016 and is scheduled to finish in May 2020, officials said.
