Ursinus College Announces New Nursing Program

Ursinus College students can now earn an accelerated nursing degree, thanks to a partnership with Villanova University.

COLLEGEVILLE, PA — Ursinus College students can now earn an accelerated nursing degree, thanks to a partnership with Villanova University.

The partnership, announced earlier this month, allows Ursinus graduates to apply to the nursing program, wherein students will spend 14 months in Villanova's Accelerated BSN program.

“This agreement presents a wealth of new possibilities for Ursinus students seeking a career path in nursing,” Mark Schneider, vice president of academic affairs and dean of Ursinus, said in announcing the program. “We are proud to enter this partnership with Villanova and provide a new generation of healthcare professionals the opportunity to earn a second bachelor’s degree from a renowned institution before setting out to meet the healthcare needs of the global community.”

Students must still complete a four year undergraduate degree at Ursinus before transitioning into the second degree program, officials said.

It marks the fourth university partnership the college has embarked upon to expand its degree offerings, according to the school.
