Valley Forge Park Fundraising Event Will 'Rebrand' Local Beers

"Benedict Arnold Double Agent DIPA" and "Marquis de Lagerette" beers will be served at the unique fundraiser to support Valley Forge Park.

VALLEY FORGE, PA — An upcoming fundraiser for Valley Forge National Historical Park at a local brewery will feature a Revolutionary War rebrand of its beers.

The Valley Forge Park Alliance and Workhorse Brewing Company are coordinating on the event. Beers will include the "Benedict Arnold Double Agent DIPA" and the
"Marquis de Lagerette."

The event will take place on Thursday, Oct. 3, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. It's free to attend, beers will be priced at $5, and 10 percent of all beer sales will go back to the Valley Forge Park Alliance.

Laura Wagoner, who is on the Board of the Alliance and is an avid Park user and volunteer, came up with the idea. She had some help from her dad and her friend Virginia, who came up with the names for the beers.

Wagoner initially hoped to have Workhorse brew a beer specifically for the Park, and though that couldn't happen in time for the event, it's a possibility for the future. Instead, existing Workhorse brews are getting this one-night only special rebrand.

"My dream would be to pack the place with history buffs, Valley Forge Park enthusiasts, and community members looking to give back," Wagoner said.

Food trucks will also be on hand. There will also be free pizza from the Tavern at Valley Forge, and free dessert from Nothing Bundt Cakes.

Workhorse Brewing is located at 250 King Manor Drive.
