Valley Forge's Washington Memorial Chapel To Hold September 11 Remembrance

A remembrance on the anniversary of September 11, 2001 will be held in Valley Forge's Washington Memorial Chapel.

Nearly three thousand lives were lost on that beautiful, sunny day 15 years ago. A day that will forever be etched in every American’s mind – no matter how young or old.

Determined to honor those who were taken from this Earth too soon, the Washington Memorial Chapel is hosting a Solemn Evensong Service on Sunday, September 11 at 4 PM. During the special service, the newly elected Bishop Daniel Gutierrez will lead the service with preaching by former Bishop Frederick Borsch. Members of the National Park Service and Irish Thunder Pipes and Drum Band will be attending.

The Evensong will conclude with a Thanksgiving for the National Park Service and a prayer at the grave of Louis J. Nacke II, one of the Heroes of Flight 93. The Chapel invites community members to come pray for those that lost their lives on that tragic day and welcomes anyone from any faith.
