Boy Rescued From Pickering Creek: Reports

Breaking: A 12-year-old boy was rescued from the rough waters of Pickering Creek on Monday afternoon.

CHARLESTOWN, PA — A 12-year-old boy was rescued from the rough waters of Pickering Creek on Monday afternoon, according to multiple reports and eyewitness accounts.

NBC10 reported the incident just after 4 p.m. Monday.

CBS reports that the victim became stuck in the middle of the stream.

Rescue crews were in boats in the stream. First responders threw ropes into the middle of the stream, where the boy was on a tree, and were able to pull the boy close enough to the raft for him to jump to safety, video from the scene showed.

It's not yet clear how the boy became stuck.
