West Vincent Farm Gets $50K Grant For Expansion

A West Vincent farm has received funding from the state to help grow its dairy operation.

WEST VINCENT, PA — A West Vincent farm has received funding from the state to help grow its dairy operation.

Birchrun Hills Farm, known for their special and wide variety of cheeses, will get a $50,000 boost through the Pennsylvania Dairy Investment program.

It's the one of 29 projects across 20 counties in Pennsylvania to receive part of $5 million in funding, Gov. Wolf's office announced.

“We created the Pennsylvania Dairy Investment Program last year with one purpose: to help Pennsylvania’s dairy farmers,” Wolf said in a statement. “The grants approved today are just the beginning of our mission to help modernize and support our dairy industry in a challenging, rapidly-changing business environment.”

Birchrun also raises veal, which is supplied to a Malvern restaurant, Alba.
