What Should Phoenixville Name Their New Schools?

PHOENIXVILLE, PA -- Should the new Phoenixville schools be named for historical figures, Presidents, or local heroes? Should it be named for the local landscape? Should it be something new entirely?

Now might be your chance to have your voice heard.

The Phoenixville School Board is asking for the public's help in naming the Early Learning Center, new elementary school, and a new road.

The schools are scheduled to open in the fall of 2017. Construction is already well underway in the rear of the present high school campus.

Construction on West Pothouse Road has recently begun, leading to a closure of that road. The school is looking to name the new road that will be built connecting the new schools to Pothouse.

The public is invited to submit names for all three, or just one.

The board said they anticipate they will make a decision before the end of the 2015-2016 school year.
