Where To Pick Your Own Apples In Chester Co. Fall 2019
The official start to fall is just a few weeks away. Here's what you need to know to start planning an autumn weekend at the farm.

There's nothing that signals the start of fall — of warm, cozy nights by the fire and pies baking in the oven — than a day of apple picking on the farms of the Chester County region.
Patch has put together a comprehensive list of where to go for U-pick orchards, as well as apple festivals and other fun activities.

Highland Orchards, 1000 Marshallton Thorndale Road, West Chester

Highland's most popular offerings include both apple picking and peach picking, which begin in September. Pickers pile aboard a shuttle that brings you to the harvesting location. Many other fruits and vegetables are available for picking, as well, including corn, nectarines, and more, depending on the week. Website here.
Barnard's Orchards, 1079 Wawaset Road (Route 842), Kennett Square
Barnard's, when in season, offers a wide range of apples and other fruits and veggies for picking. Freestone peaches and white sweet corn are available for picking over the next week.
Varner Farms, 746 S Trappe Rd, Collegeville
Varner Farms is a local institution that offers everything from pumpkin picking to cutting your own Christmas tree. There are horse and tractor wagon rides out to the pumpkin patch ($4 per person), pumpkin painting, face painting, scarecrow making, a corn maze, and more. You can also pick corn, apples, and strawbales. Other specialties in the store include cider, caramels, and dried flowers. Website here.
Linvilla Orchard, 137 W Knowlton Rd, Media
No, it's not in Chester County, but Linvilla is a staple of the region's apple picking scene. Apple season officially began at Linvilla with honeycrisp picking back on Aug. 24. Weekly events, a large market, and sprawling apple and pumpkin fields.
