Writer, Phoenixville Soccer Club Board Member Dies At 55

He was an important member of the community. May he rest in peace.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA --James Edward Knaub, 55, passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at his home.

He was born in York to the late John Knaub and Sarah (Strayer) Knaub, of Elizabethtown. James was a 1979 graduate of York Central Senior High School and a 1984 graduate of Bloomsburg University.

He began his career in journalism as a sports writer for the Ephrata Review and Coatesville Record. He then was a writer and editor for the trade publication, Ocular Surgery News. At the time of his passing, he was the Editing Director of Great Valley Publications and Radiology Today.

Mr. Knaub shared his father's love of model soldiers. He also was a member of Phoenix Fiction Writers at the Phoenixville Public Library. He was a former board member of Phoenixville Area Soccer Club.

In addition to his mother, James is survived by his children, Samuel J. Knaub and Cecilia F. Knaub of Phoenixville; siblings, John Knaub of Greenville, N.C. and Sue Ann Maple of Fishers, Ind.

A Funeral Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at 6 p.m. at Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., 610 S. Main St., Phoenixville.

Friends will be received from 5 to 6 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Phoenixville Area Soccer Club, PO Box 136 Phoenixville, PA 19460.
