Pine-Richland High School’s graduation is occurring this Friday, June 10.
Being a senior I can honestly say it came faster than I thought. Many seniors keep a countdown till the big day in their planners -- 4 months, 3 months, 1 month. Now that it is here I can hardly believe it.
Graduation Day marks a big milestone in our lives. It is both an end and a beginning. Someone recently told me that the feeling you get from graduating college does not even compare to how great it feels to graduate high school.

I thought about that and I realized a couple of things to why this is true. From kindergarten to 12th grade you develop long-lasting friendships with people. You grow into your own person.
You will always remember your high school years. That’s why many people enjoy going to their high school reunions. The classes you take in high school help give you the foundation for what you want to study in college and finally your career.

Graduation Day is not only for the students though. It is for the parents and families who helped and supported their students through both the good times and the bad. They are the ones who helped you with your homework, packed your lunches, and bought those dozen cookies to take in to your second-grade birthday party.
Graduation marks the beginning of a new chapter for the whole senior class. Its marks the first day of your future and where you will take the lessons you have learned in high school and apply them to a whole new phase in your life.
Congratulations Class of 2011. Pat yourselves on the back and thank those who have helped you along the way.
