A Pirate for Life

Steve Blass was a pitcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates for ten years, including their 1971 World Series win.  Suddenly, after the 1972 season, Blass suffered a loss of pitching control and retired from baseball in 1974.  He is currently a broadcast announcer for the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Steve Blass will visit the Northern Tier Library on Tuesday, July 17th at 6:30 p.m. to discuss his new book, A Pirate for Life.  In this memoir, he discusses his baseball career, his struggles with Steve Blass Disease, and his work as a color commentator for the Pirates.  Copies of his book will be available for purchase and signing.  Registration is required.
