The 3rd annual Mars Band on the Run 5k Run/Walk is set for May 21, 2011. The race begins at 9:00am followed by a 1k Children's Fun Run. Early registration is $18. through April 30. Registration through May 19 is $22. Race day registration is $25.
This is a quality 5K race to benefit the Mars Area Marching Band. Awesome adult size "tech" shirts guaranteed to 5K runners pre-registered by April 30th. All others as supply lasts. Cotton youth size shirts for Children participating in the Fun Run. Medals and finisher ribbons are awarded to runners in many age groups. The race is USATF sanctioned and chip timed.
The 5k course begins and ends at Mars High School. The 1K course is entirely on school property.
222 runners & walkers, 8 y.o to 85 y.o., from 5 states, participated in our inaugural 2009 event with over 400 runners & walkers participating in 2010. 100+ band members, band boosters & community volunteers helped out.
