Bruegger’s is hosting this event as a way to say “thank you” to its loyal guests and neighbors, a company press release states. It will also provide a chance for the community to experience the company’s newly updated bakeries, which were completed in early September at each of Bruegger’s Pittsburgh locations.
“Pittsburgh is one of our largest markets with a strong local following,” said Scott Colwell, CMO. “This event is our way to thank our loyal neighbors and give back to our admirable community partner.”
Bruegger’s has invested more than $500,000 to update its bakeries in the Pittsburgh area to provide guests with a warmer, more inviting atmosphere and a new community table where the laptop-toting crowd may gather to make use of the bakery’s free Wi-Fi.
The event in September is Bruegger’s second fundraiser this year for Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh as part of its nationwide affiliation with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, an organization that raises funds for 170 children’s hospitals across North America.
Bruegger’s donated nearly $90,000 to the Children’s Miracle Network last year.
This year, Bruegger’s will continue to raise funds for the organization and its local hospitals by donating a percentage of nationwide sales from the company’s Bottomless Mugs, which go on sale Oct. 26, and by collecting donations during Bruegger’s national Free Coffee Day on Nov. 9.
“We’re so pleased to have a partner that believes in our local community and works to raise awareness and funds to help Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh perform its mission,” said Amy Razem, development coordinator for Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation.
