Panera Bread Donates 100 Percent of Proceeds From Pink Ribbon Bagel Sales on Tuesday

Special bagels help raise funds and awareness for breast cancer.

In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month,  is donating 100 percent of the proceeds from Tuesday's sales of its Pink Ribbon Bagel.

Panera is donating to the Young Women’s Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation in support of Magee-Womens Research Institute & Foundation.

This is the 10-year anniversary of the Pink Ribbon Bagel, which is made with cherries, cranberries and honey and shaped like the iconic pink ribbon.

From Oct. 5 to 31, Panera will donate a portion of the Pink Ribbon Bagels proceeds to organizations across the U.S. in support of breast cancer awareness.

at Shoppers Plaza, 4960 William Flynn Highway, Allison Park;

Panera also encourages people to "like" the "Virtual Pink Ribbon Bagel" on its Facebook page from Sept. 30 to Oct. 31 and 10 cents will be donated to the Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation to help fight breast cancer.

The Pink Ribbon Bagel was created 10 years ago when Sue Stees, a Panera Bread franchisee and breast cancer survivor, had the idea to create the bagel to raise money and awareness for breast cancer, according to Panera's Facebook page.

Donations from the sales of the Pink Ribbon Bagel have now raised more than $1 million for breast cancer charities, according to a Panera press release.
