Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg Begins Construction of Senior Apartments

Inglenook at Presbyterian Village to offer 41 apartment homes, opening mid-2017

HOLLIDAYSBURG, Pa. – January 25, 2016Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg, a continuing care retirement community, has begun construction of senior apartments. The new Inglenook at Presbyterian Village will feature 41 apartment homes available to individuals 62 and older.

Inglenook at Presbyterian Village will be adjacent to the main building of Presbyterian Village (at 220 Newry Street) and is expected to serve people from Hollidaysburg, Altoona and the surrounding areas. Floor plans will include one-bedroom, one-bedrooms with a den, two-bedrooms and two-bedrooms with a den ranging in size from 850- to 1,500-square-feet.

“We’re pleased to expand our ability to provide a well-designed setting where seniors can thrive, discover hobbies, set new goals and make meaningful friendships,” said Debra Larkin, executive director. “The residents and staff of Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg are very active in the town of Hollidaysburg and also engaged throughout Blair County, so we’re excited to expand our service in the community to meet this need.”

The expansion adds to the community’s existing 31 independent living cottages and apartments, 43 personal care apartments and studios and 67 skilled nursing accommodations. Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg has an extensive history of caring for others as it began offering senior care services in 1925. The CCRC’s skilled nursing center has been rated as one of the Top 100 Nursing Homes nationwide according to U.S. News and World Report and holds a four-star rating from CMS.
