Kean Theatre Stages 'Not Now Darling' Comedy

The show runs Nov. 4-6 and Nov. 11-13.

The comedy Not Now Darling will be staged at the in November as part of its “Broadway’s Best and Funniest” series.

In the storyline, London fur salon owner Arnold Crouch has difficulty keeping everything afloat while his partner, Gilbert Bodley, is off philandering. Bodley decides to sell his new mistress’ husband a fur coat for an extremely low price to win her affection and Crouch is stuck presiding over the deal.

The husband decides to give the coat to his own mistress and that is when all the madness ensues.

Showtime at the 5847 Meridian Road theater in Richland Township is 8 p.m. Nov. 4, 5, 11 and 12.  Cost is $22. An optional dinner at any location will begin seating at 6 p.m.; cost for dinner and the show is $41. 

Sunday matinees will be staged at 2 p.m. Nov. 6 and 13.  Cost is $20.

An optional luncheon will take place at the Kean Theatre’s Mount Vernon Restaurant at 12:30 p.m.; cost for lunch and the show is $39.

In the Kean Theatre production, Arnold Crouch is played by Mike Regan of Hampton and Gilbert Bodley is played by Stefan Lingenfelter of Butler. Mr. and Mrs. Frenchman are played by Don Pepe of Butler and Nancy Batko of McCandless.

Sue Lawson is played by Michelina Pollini of Cranberry Township, Miss Tipdale is played by Michelle LeWay of Pittsburgh, and Maude Bodley is played by Diane Mousseau of Plum Township. Janie and Harry McMichael are played by Whitney Ann Jenkins of Butler and Pat Shiner of Monroeville.

Not Now Darling is directed by Tom Madden, managing and artistic director of the Kean Theatre, and produced by Kristen Scannell.
