Pet Expo, Holiday Market Among 5 Fun Pittsburgh Weekend Events
Here are Patch suggestions on the weekend's top arts and entertainment options around town.
PITTSBURGH, PA — As we prepare to segue into the holiday season, you might notice a holiday-themed activity or event creep into this space. In fact, there's one this week as Patch once again provides recommended activities to keep you from getting bored this weekend.
Here's what's going on:
- Pittsburgh Pet Expo, Nov. 12, 5 p.m.-9 p.m.; Nov. 13, 10 a.m.-8 p.m.; Nov. 14, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., David L. Lawrence Convention Center.
Here's a chance to expose yourself in pet-related activities such as grooming competitions, dog
competition and trick shows, reptile exhibits, adoption opportunities, meeting with vets and pet industry experts and more. Hundreds of exhibitors also will be on hand to showcase the latest pet products and services.

- I Made It! Market For The Holidays, Nov. 13, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., The Block Northway, Ross.
Shoppers can find exclusively handmade products, including 2-D art, clothing and toys for infants and children,bath and body products, ceramics, fiber art, glass art, homewares, jewelry, leather goods, pop culture and fandom gifts, pet treats and gifts and wooden wares. Ready to eat and packaged food and beverages will also be available.
- Food Truck A Palooza, Nov. 13, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Monroeville Convention Center.
This event will feature some of the region's most well-known trucks in an indoor, weather-protected environment: Pittsburgh Halal, Speals on Wheels, Pittsburgh Crepes, Revival Chili, Coop Chickenand Waffles, Burgh Bites, Millie's Homemade and many more. Admission does not include food truck items.

- Mini Beer Fest at the Galley, Nov. 13, 1 p.m., Bakery Square.
There will be live music and beer samples from five area breweries: Hitchhiker Brewing, East End Brewing Company, Brew Gentlemen, Two Frays Brewery and Full Pint Beer. The event is free but there's also a $5 VIP ticket option which will give you your first draft for free and automatically enter you into a raffle basket drawing.
- The Magic Flute, Nov. 12, 7:30 p.m.; Nov. 14, 2 p.m., Benedum Center.
The Pittsburgh Opera performs Mozart’s final and most-celebrated opera, which follows Young Prince Tamino as he attempts to rescue Princess Pamina from Sarastro’s clutches - with the help of a certain musical instrument whose name, coincidentally, happens to be the opera's title. The show likely will enthrall children and adults alike.
