Traffic Blotter: Collision Sends Motorcyclist to Hospital

A motorcyclist making a left turn onto Brookstone Drive was struck about 7:30 a.m. April 17 by a motorist at the Brooktree Road intersection in Pine Township, according to a report.

McCandless-Franklin Park Ambulance Authority transported Brett Stewart, 28, of Pittsburgh to UPMC Passavant, the report stated. 

Police said Margorie Ditmore, 79, of Pittsburgh, was making a left onto Brooktree Road at the same time Stewart was making a left onto Brookstone Drive.

Ditmore pulled into the intersection and hit the left side of the motorcycle with the front end of her 2004 Hyundai Elantra, said police.

Driver Distracted by Corvette Runs Into Back of Dodge Avenger

A Wexford woman traveling Route 19 southbound on April 16 ran into the back of a Dodge Avenger after being distracted by looking at a Corvette, according to a Northern Regional police report.

Samantha Kaup, 19, of Wexford, ran into the back of the Dodge about 6 p.m. at the Wallace Extension intersection in Pine Township, police said.

Police identified the driver of the Dodge as 49-year-old Mary Zmuda, of Sewickley.

Kaup's 2006 Ford Focus was towed.

Three–Vehicle Chain Reaction on Route 19

A Cranberry Township woman set off a three-vehicle chain reaction about 2 p.m. April 2 on Route 19 near the Warrendale Road intersection in Pine, said police.

An Audi driven by 34-year-old Lynn Marie Berger ran into the back of a Saturn driven by Joshua Erdner, 34, of Wexford, police reported.

The collision pushed the Saturn into the back of a Buick LeSabre driven by 59-year-old Barbara Schulte, of Allison Park, said police.

No injuries were reported.
