20 Pittsburgh Schools Now Closed Due To COVID-19 Staffing Issues

The number of Pittsburgh schools that have moved to virtual learning because of COVID-19 issues has risen considerably.

PITTSBURGH, PA —The number of Pittsburgh Public Schools closed because of staffing shortages rose to twenty with six new schools added to the list for Wednesday. The shortages are related to positive COVID-19 cases, exposure-related quarantines and other staff absences.

The latest schools to move to synchronous learning are:

  • Pittsburgh Carrick High School
  • Pittsburgh Greenfield PreK-8
  • Pittsburgh Milliones 6-12
  • Pittsburgh Obama 6-12
  • Pittsburgh Science and Technology Academy 6-12
  • Pittsburgh Westinghouse 6-12

The following schools will be closed for the remainder of the week and are scheduled to reopen on Jan. 10:
