Allegheny Co.: Nearly 1,000 New Weekend Coronavirus Cases
Here are the latest coronavirus case numbers for Allegheny County and southwestern Pennsylvania.
PITTSBURGH, PA — The Allegheny County Health Department on Monday reported 887 confirmed and probable new coronavirus cases over the weekend. There have been 61,075 cases since the outbreak began in March.
There were three new deaths, raising the total since the outbreak began to 1,089.
The 586 confirmed cases came from 2,131 new tests - a positivity rate of 27 percent. For comparison purposes, the latest positivity rate for tests across Pennsylvania is 15 percent, state officials said.

There have been 3,485 hospitalizations during the outbreak.
With 21,622 cases in Westmoreland County, 10,757 in Butler County, 10,353 in Washington County and 9,483 in Beaver County, that brings the total number of cases to 1114,300 when Allegheny County numbers are included.

According to the state Department of Health, there have been 2,337 deaths in the region from the virus: One thousand and ninety-nine in Allegheny County, 476 in Westmoreland County, 274 in Beaver County, 242 in Butler County and 156 in Washington County.
