Allegheny County Approaching 1,000 Coronavirus Deaths
Here are the latest coronavirus case numbers for Allegheny County and southwestern Pennsylvania.
PITTSBURGH, PA — The Allegheny County Health Department on Monday reported 852 confirmed and probable new coronavirus cases over the weekend. There have been 56,262 cases since the outbreak began in March.
There were five new coronavirus deaths. The county death toll now stands at 982.
The 607 confirmed cases came from 2,361 new tests - a positivity rate of 25 percent. For comparison purposes, the latest positivity rate for tests across Pennsylvania is 15.8 percent, state officials said.

There have been 3,241 hospitalizations during the outbreak.
With 19,806 cases in Westmoreland County, 9,644 in Butler County, 9,278 in Washington County and 8,707 in Beaver County, that brings the total number of cases to 103,697 when Allegheny County numbers are included.

According to the state Department of Health, there have been 2,006 deaths in the region from the virus: Nine hundred and eighty-two in Allegheny County, 429 in Westmoreland County, 257 in Beaver County, 202 in Butler County and 136 in Washington County.
