Allegheny County Coronavirus Death Toll Jumps By Double Digits

Here are the latest coronavirus case numbers for Allegheny County and southwestern Pennsylvania.

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Allegheny County Health Department on Wednesday reported 20 additional coronavirus deaths, raising the total since the outbreak began to 1,245.

There were 463 new confirmed and probable coronavirus cases, boosting the total number during the outbreak to 65,577.

The 285 confirmed cases came from 1,245 tests - a positivity rate of 22 percent.

There have been 3,832 hospitalizations during the outbreak.

With 23,451 cases in Westmoreland County, 11,854 in Butler County, 11,556 in Washington County and 10,330 in Beaver County, that brings the total number of cases to 122,768 when Allegheny County numbers are included.

According to the state Department of Health, there have been 2,569 deaths in the region from the virus: One thousand, two hundred and forty-five in Allegheny County, 541 in Westmoreland County, 295 in Beaver County, 290 in Butler County and 172 in Washington County
