Allegheny County Coronavirus Death Toll Spikes Again
Here are the latest coronavirus case numbers for Allegheny County and southwestern Pennsylvania.
PITTSBURGH, PA — The Allegheny County Health Department on Wednesday reported 74 new coronavirus deaths, raising the total since the outbreak began to 1,178.
There were 670 confirmed and probable new cases, raising the total to 62,439.
The 386 confirmed cases came from 1,942 new tests - a positivity rate of 19 percent. For comparison purposes, the latest positivity rate for tests across Pennsylvania is 15 percent, state officials said.

There have been 3,711 hospitalizations during the outbreak.
With 22,233 cases in Westmoreland County, 11,056 in Butler County, 10,648 in Washington County and 9,749 in Beaver County, that brings the total number of cases to 116,125 when Allegheny County numbers are included.

According to the state Department of Health, there have been 2,264 deaths in the region from the virus: One thousand, one hundred and seventy-eight in Allegheny County, 491 in Westmoreland County, 281 in Beaver County, 256 in Butler County and 164 in Washington County
