Allegheny County Executive Race Continues To Grow

PITTSBURGH, PA — John Weinstein, the Allegheny County treasurer for nearly a quarter of a century, is the latest Democrat to announce his candidacy to succeed Rich Fitzgerald as county executive.
Weinstein, who became treasurer in 1999, made the announcement Thursday at the Senator John Heinz History Center in the Strip District.
Other county executive candidates include Pittsburgh City Controller Michael Lamb; former county councilman Dave Fawcett; current county council member Olivia Bennett and county Department of Human Services consultant Erin McClelland.
