Allegheny County Reports Dozens Of New Coronavirus Deaths

Here are the latest coronavirus case numbers for Allegheny County and southwestern Pennsylvania.

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Allegheny County Health Department on Friday reported 64 new coronavirus deaths. The total since the outbreak began is 1,451.

There were 364 new and confirmed probable coronavirus cases. The total number number during the outbreak is now 68,809.

The 287 confirmed cases came from 1,314 tests - a positivity rate of 21 percent.

There have been 4,221 hospitalizations during the outbreak.

With 24,576 cases in Westmoreland County, 12,651 in Butler County, 12,452 in Washington County and 10,890 in Beaver County, that brings the total number of cases to 129,378 when Allegheny County numbers are included.

According to the state Department of Health, there have been 2,910 deaths in the region from the virus: One thousand, four hundred and fifty-one in Allegheny County, 594 in Westmoreland County, 325 in Butler County, 318 in Beaver County and 222 in Washington County.
