PITTSBURGH, PA — The National Weather Service is warning of a severe weather threat in Pittsburgh and Western Pennsylvania on Wednesday and Thursday.
Today, scattered severe storms are possible during the afternoon and evening. Damaging wind gusts are the primary threat.
There is a lesser risk of large hail and a possible tornado.
The weather service says the storms could occur from noon until 7 p.m.
On Thursday, isolated instances of damaging wind gusts and large hail are possible during the afternoon and evening.
Temperatures today and tomorrow will feel more like August than April. The expected highs are 84 today and 83 tomorrow.
More seasonable temperatures will not return until Sunday, when the high is expected to be around 60.
