PITTSBURGH, PA — A popular Pittsburgh diner will go out of business at the end of this week.
The Crack'd Egg, on Brownsville Road in Brentwood, announced on social media that it will close on Sunday.
"Costs through the roof. Pressure nonstop. And the truth is we've got nothing left to give," the post stated.
"We weren't just the owners, we are the operators - the staff, the workers. The early mornings prepping, cooking, doing dishes, sweeping, mopping. The ones doing whatever had to be done, every single day. So this is it. We are retiring from the restaurant business effective May 10.
"Time for family and friends, especially the baby grands. It's time to stop saying no - not to sleepovers, no to evening events, no to the fun moments we missed just to keep our doors open.
"What we won't miss is the grind. It's you."
