PITTSBURGH, PA — Allegheny County Police homicide detectives are probing a fatal stabbing that occurred Thursday night in a Pittsburgh suburb.
At approximately 9:39 p.m., county 911 notified of a female who was stabbed in the 700 block of Penny Drive. The victim previously had been driven by personal vehicle to UMPC Mercy Hospital in the city's Uptown section, where she ultimately was pronounced dead.
The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office has yet to release the identity of the victim.
It is unclear what led to the stabbing. As of Friday morning, no arrests had been made and no suspects had been identified.
