Pittsburgh Chains Offering Major Gas Discount

PITTSBURGH – As gas prices across the region continue to rise, Giant Eagle and GetGo hare offering a new limited-time promotion to help customers save even more at the pump.

Customers who activate the offer will earn five times the amount of myPerks rewards on a qualifying purchase of $100 or more made in a single transaction at Giant Eagle or Market District on May 16-17.

The five-times perks multiplier equates to customers earning 50 cents off per gallon of fuel purchased at GetGo for every $100 spent at Giant Eagle or Market District during the qualifying transaction. For example, a $200 supermarket transaction will earn $1.00 off per gallon, a $300 supermarket transaction will earn $1.50 off per gallon, a $400 supermarket transaction will earn $2.00 off per gallon, and so on.

There is no limit to the reward customers can earn through this promotion, giving customers the opportunity to earn a free tank of fuel.

Here are the three steps to take advantage of the promotion:

1. Activate the promotion. Visit GiantEagle.com or the Giant Eagle mobile app beginning Saturday morning to activate the promotion.

2. Shop Giant Eagle or Market District this weekend. The five-times perks multiplier will trigger when a customer spends more than $100 on qualifying purchases in a single transaction with the myPerks loyalty card on Saturday or Sunday at any Giant Eagle or Market District location throughout Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Indiana and Maryland. The offer is valid for both in-store shopping and for orders placed online through Giant Eagle’s curbside pickup and home delivery services.

3. Redeem the perks. Perks rewards will be available for redemption immediately after the qualifying supermarket transaction is complete. Customers may choose to redeem their earned perks reward either for a discount on fuel purchased at any GetGo location or for a grocery discount on a future trip to Giant Eagle or Market District.

The five-times perks promotion is limited to one redemption per household. Earned rewards cannot be redeemed for cash. Customers can visit GiantEagle.com for more information on the promotion.
