PITTSBURGH, PA — WDVE-FM, a top-rated Pittsburgh rock station and the anchor station for Steelers radio broadcasts, has a new morning show co-host.

Station owner iHeartMedia announced on Wednesday that Tad Wissel has been named a co-host of the Randy Baumann and the DVE Morning Show effective immediately.

He essentially replaces longtime morning show co-host Bill Crawford, who left the station in November to concentrate on his stand-up comedy career.

Wissel has been making weekly appearances on the show for the past six months. He now will join Baumann, Abby Krizner and Mike Prisuta as part of the morning show team on a daily basis.

According to the station, Wissel will contribute on-air content, including original comedy, storytelling and Pittsburgh-centric segments that reflect the voice, humor, and culture of the city.

“Tad has been a natural fit with the show from the start, so this was a no-brainer," Baumann said in a statement.

"He’s such a gifted writer and performer and has been so prolific since he started joining us in the mornings. The way he’s been able to seamlessly jump into the fray with myself, Mike and Abby with such ease has been so much fun to watch unfold. He understands Pittsburgh in a very specific and authentic way which has always been the foundation of the DVE Morning Show. The response from our listeners when Tad has been on the show has been overwhelming and I’m beyond excited to get to work with him every morning.”

Wissel joins the Pittsburgh market after a decade at SLB Radio Productions, where he created and produced content. A lifelong resident of southwestern Pennsylvania, Wissel began his career as an intern on the DVE Morning Show. He also hosted multiple podcasts, including the frisbee-culture favorite “Sin the Fields,” and spent the last three years serving as a firefighter for the City of Pittsburgh. He is a graduate of Edinboro University.

"Growing up in and around Pittsburgh, I've been an avid WDVE listener for as long as I can remember,” Wissel said. “Being part of the DVE Morning Show is a dream come true. I'm beyond excited to join this incredible team and connect with listeners in the greatest city in the world."

In addition to WDVE, iHeart Media Pittsburgh owns and operates 94.5 3WS, 105.9 The X, 96.1 KISS, BIG 104.7, and Fox Sports 970.
