A sandwich shop in one of Pittsburgh's most heavily populated neighborhoods is shutting its doors. Get the details here.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Frequent restaurant turnover is a given in the frantic do-or-die atmosphere of the Squirrel Hill dining scene - and it's happening again.

The tiny Murray Avenue that has housed the Stuntpig sandwich shop for the past two years, announced on social media that it is going out of business.

The eatery's last day will be May 23.

"After much wailing and gnashing of teeth, we’ve decided not to renew our lease," an Instagram post sated.

"We find ourselves at an intersection of factors and circumstances that require us to take a break and reassess. It's with much pride and satisfaction that we move to close this chapter. keeping our singular focus on the food- making it colorful and unique has been our best dunk. while its been a knockout, its kinda knocked us out too.

"Many thanks are owed to swaths of yinz. its been a real deal privilege cooking for everybody. lets not make anybody cry at work with too many questions right now, pretty please?"

Stuntpig, which operated as a food truck before moving to the brick and mortar location, hinted that there could be "some lil things in the works" for the proprietors.

"The door remains open to future stunting," the post stated. "We never really stop cooking, do we?"

Stuntpig replaced Bull River Taco Co. in the small storefront in 2024.

It's unclear what will replace the sandwich stop in the space.
