PITTSBURGH, PA — A Lyft driver was seriously injured late Sunday after being slashed in the neck, allegedly by a passenger.
Pennsylvania State Police responded to the incident, which occurred shortly afer 11 p.m. on Interstate 79 in the area of the Neville Island exit. They discovered the Lyft driver had suffered a laceration to the right side of the neck after an altercation with the passenger.
The suspect, Saul Baxin, 31, then fled from the vehicle on foot to Coraopolis Road. He damaged multiple vehicles there as they passed by the road.
Baxin then was struck by a passing vehicle, sustained a leg injury, and then was taken into custody by police. His condition is unknown.
The Lyft driver, who not identified, was taken to the hospital and last was reported in stable condition.
