PITTSBURGH, PA — A popular restaurant and whiskey spot that many people thought was permanently closed will be reopening.
Butcher and the Rye, on Sixth Street in Downtown Pittsburgh, once again will open its doors to diners and drinkers beginning on July 8.
Except for occasional pop-up events, the space has been closed since 2020.
"Butcher and the Rye has always been about more than food and drinks," a post on the restaurant's website stated.
"It's about gathering around a table, sharing stories, discovering something new in your glass, and creating memorable experiences. We are thrilled to welcome Pittsburgh back through our doors."
Butcher and the Rye is owned the Richard DeShantz Restaurant Group, which also operates Meat & Potatoes, Gi Jin, Rib Room and Sally Ann's, all Downtown; Coop Deville in Lawrenceville; Fish Nor Fowl in East Liberty and Pre Amp Coffee Studio in Squirrel Hill.
