PITTSBURGH, PA — Keep an eye on the skies on Saturday.
The National Weather Service says showers and thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and evening across the Pittsburgh area and throughout Western Pennsylvania.
There is a risk for some of the storms to be severe, with large hail, heavy rain and damaging winds possible.
An isolated tornado also could occur.
The highest potential for damaging weather is expected to happen north of Interstate 70, according to the weather service.
Looking ahead, the weather service is advising to prepare for a steamy week in the region.
Beginning on Sunday, high temperatures are expected to range from the upper 80s to lower 90s. That trend is expected to last at least until Friday.
