PITTSBURGH, PA — At least one tornado occurred during Saturday's severe weather outbreak in Western Pennsylvania, officials said one Monday.
According to the National Weather Service on Monday, three survey teams currently are assessing damage across Washington, Westmoreland and Fayette counties on June 6.
But the weather service did confirm that a twister touched down in Ellsworth, Washington County, during the storms.
Further information on the strength of the tornado was not immediately available.
No one was injured in the Ellsworth incident.
However, power remains out to thousands in the Pittsburgh area and it remains unclear when all electric service will be restored.
